John Palmer Manning Jr
was born on
28 Oct 1932 in Highland Park, Mich.. He served in the military between 1954
and 1956 in the US Army stationed in Germany. He received a degree in Geology
(Bachelors) in 1958 in Kent State University. He received a degree in Education
(Masters) in 1964 in Columbia University. He died on 9 Nov 2008 in Wickliffe
Country Place in Wickliffe.. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1954 to
1956 in Germany. He was a 1958 graduate of Kent State University and received
a masters degree from Columbia University in 1964. Mr. Manning taught math
at Willoughby South High School, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2300 in Willoughby, American
Legion Palmer-Roberts Post 214 in Willoughby and served on the board at the Willoughby-Eastlake
Schools Credit Union. Jack enjoyed photography, reading, golf, Cleveland sports
teams, as well as supporting his sons athletic and academic activities.
He was the beloved husband of Mary Lou (nee Lisi) Manning; loving father of John
P. (Lori) Manning III of Fishers, Ind., and Thomas P. (Carolyn) Manning of Auburn
Township; and proud grandfather of Vincent, Maegen, Sydney and Ryan.
He was an Administrator and Mathamatics Teacher until he retired in 1984 in
Willoughby South High School. He was also known as Jack. He was a Cleveland
Browns, Indians, Notre Dame and U of Michigan fan. Mary Louise Lisi and John
Palmer Manning Jr had the following children:
